A rare opportunity to get a good photo of Gryff

It's hard to get him in the right light so that he doesn't look like a shadow. He is, after all, a handsome panther.

It's SO hard to photograph black cats. My Logan, who passed 5 1/2 years ago, was all black except for a white splash on his chest. It was really hard to get a good pic of him, and I don't have nearly as many of him as I would have liked.

I’ve found most cats do. They seem to know they exist to be admired.

So I took most of her pix on, in front of or lying on the back of a red chair in my parents' living room.
