Pets
Related: About this forumI been outside burying my little girl. She showed up
here a little over 18 years ago. Beautiful grey and and white kitten around year old. The neighbor down the road had her for their three year old daughter. Then shortly after drove to Chicago and rescued a blood hound dog and that cat said I'm out of here and she found me and has been daddy's little girl ever since.
About two weeks ago my little girl started losing weight and stopped eating. My vet said he could euthanize her, but if she is not in pain to let her live out her life. I found her laying out in the back yard this morning. I just finished burying her and I'm so sad.
My neighbor's three year old daughter graduated with her bachelor's degree in college this year and now going to the university to be a forensic scientist. Never had a pet live this long.
Here is her picture of Gracie when she was around four or five years old.

(360 posts)Gracie lived her very best life. She will be with you always.
My back garden is dotted with the many many resting places of my babies. I know that every night their little spirits play in my garden. I wish I could see them. I sit on my garden bench and I can feel their presence.

(15,023 posts)Were going to lose our 17 1/2-year old ginger tabby, Simon today. Just waiting for them to get here. We got him as a very small kitten, just a few months old if that.
Gracie was beautiful. Im glad she found you and had a long, wonderful life.

(15,023 posts)It was done at 2:30 and very peaceful. We're still crying... can't help it. But he is not suffering and hopefully is having a reunion with his sisters and brothers. We're so thankful that our vets will come out to the house so we didn't have to give the little guy a terrifying car ride as his last experience.

(416 posts)She reminds me of my Pippin, a Korat who lived to be twenty-two years old. I had trained him to use the toilet, and he used the head on the boat. He was my best buddy. As he became weaker, I fixed him a cozy bed and a litter box in the bathroom. One day he struggled to get up to greet me for the third time that day. I told him was okay, it was time for him to go. He put his head down and drifted off shortly after that. I've missed him most days though he left many years ago. He's buried under my studio, and still is my muse.
Though no one could replace Gracie, I hope you'll be able to find someone who can reside in your heart next to her, as I have over the years since losing several wonderful companions.

(666 posts)She was a beautiful companion who I am certain loved you as much as you love her! Eighteen is a long stretch for a cat and an obvious sign of the love and care she received during her time on this planet. It seems she was happy to be in her comfort zone when she passed.

Godspeed, Gracie... what a GOOD friend you are! (((hugs)))
