(367 posts)I miss the days when my daughter and I were members of a cat rescue organization. Those days will come again after we work through some health issues. Did you ever find an outdoor enclosure for your feral cats?

(27,755 posts)One is really nice, raised up off of the ground, and they do use it when it's rainy. Otherwise they cuddle up BENEATH it!
I suspect it will get more use when the weather turns cold.

(367 posts)I saw one on Amazon and would have been honored to gift it to your babies as an early Christmas gift. Offer is open if ever needed.

(27,755 posts)I am constantly keeping watch for any developments. The best, so far, was when he started purring.

(2,937 posts)BUT I love him/her!!! That thing where they crawl up to your neck and snuggle in and purr while you hold them....heaven.
Our kitten days are over, unless one shows up here (how we got one of our two four years ago!). At 73 and 75, and a history of cats that live to 16+, we can't go out and get one. No one to take care of it when we go. But I have had cats my entire life, my mother raised Siamese and we have had cats our 53 years of marriage, so I do know the kitten thing!!! Love this one!

I do wonder how the two would compare, though.

(27,948 posts)That must be absolutely irresistible.
Years ago, during my first Air Force assignment in San Antonio, I lived in the same apartment complex as the nurse practitioner who had been my sponsor. I had 2 cats. One time, while she was at my place, she said, "Your cat must be really hungry. I can hear his stomach growling."
She had never heard a cat purr. Her mother did not allow any pets in the home while she was growing up.
I remember thinking, "What a deprived existence!" to not know what purring is.
