Poor Merlin has had a traumatic day

My front porch is enclosed. This morning I unlocked both the porch and house door so I could bring some ice melt out. After I cleared the driveway I went back inside, via the garage. What I didn't know was that Merlin had slipped out to the porch.

Madoc and Arthur have spent a lot of time napping on my lap. I thought Merlin was curled up at the kitchen window but when I went to find him, NOPE. I ran to the door and saw things in disarray on the porch and could hear him but couldn't see him. (Fortunately, the porch faces south and the sun was out so the porch was relatively warm.

Turns out Merlin had gotten himself wedged behind some big flower pots so I eased him out. I felt horrible. The first thing I thought to do, other than apologizing and snuggling him, was to break out some Churu treats. He forgave me, gobbled down the treat and then jumped up on my lap and started to make biscuits while suckling on my neck, purring for all he was worth.

I think I might just have to add some tuna to his dinner.

He's telling you that he doesn't ever want to be locked out again! That is traumatic. Glad you found him and he okay.

4. Merlin, you are a wizard. What happened to your magical powers?

HAD to race past my legs when I let the dog out. Took ONE step into the snow, turned around and ran back in the house and under my bed. The only time else he's come out today is to lay in my lap. At least he doesn't blame the snow on me, I guess!
