I seem to have acquired another cat (maybe)

There is this good-sized tuxie boy hanging around. Josie seems to like him. (Meg doesn't, but she hates every other cat, so I discount her opinion anyway.) I have a sneaking suspicion that he and Josie may be sleeping curled up together in the woodpile in this cold weather because he is often at the back of the woodpile when I go out to feed them in the morning and looks like he just went there. He looks at me when I talk to him but won't come any closer than that. However, as soon as I put the food down and go in, he'll come out to eat---and he knows which dish is his. I've named him Napoleon (to go with Josephine, which is Josie's official name) but I mostly just call him Bruh. I'd love to catch/trap him and get him to the vet for a once-over and neutering but that will have to wait until I get back from my vacation, most likely. Part of the reason is that he seems to be limping and I don't know the cause. Also, with my luck, he'll be FIV+. Oh well, for right now I'll just feed him and try to get him to come a little closer.

Good to know FIV isn't a death sentence. Aussie105 Feb 25 #4

and neutering. Two of the 4 tested positive for FIV. Those two never had any problems with it. One lived to be 14 and died of heart failure. The other is now 19.

we get FIV+ cats at the shelter all the time. We used to not adopt them out but we do now. Even as barn cats they do very well. I'm more concerned with Bruh's limping.

Stray cat wandered in for a feed, eye problems.
Vet asked if he should be put down.
Wife and I did a big Negatory response.
He got chipped, desexed, and his inverted eyelashes fixed.

Affectionate fella he is, but only at feeding time.
Typical cat!

7 years later, he is still OK.
Yes, he is FIV positive.
