Related: About this forumMy yesterday was so bad that even Carys offered me some comfort!
It was just one of those days when everything seemed to go whonky. I was clearing out some stuff to toss out and Merlin was constantly under foot or IN the trash bag! Everything took at least twice as long as it should have.
Then the TV in the den said the HDMI cable was defective. Huh? I switched it out with the living room TV and that 'defective' cable worked just fine. After I re attached the den TV I noticed the cable box had switched off. Got that rebooted and then the internet modem went out. I grabbed my phone and checked the outage map. It said there were no issues. Finally decided to move it to a new outlet and now it works just fine. The outlet it was in works just fine, too, so I'm baffled. My frustration level was getting pretty explosive.
Anyway..................... I was headed towards the living room when all of a sudden Carys came trotting up to me, offering to let me give her some affection. Then it happened again! Later, she let me pet her at dinner time. Twice, last night, she even jumped up on the bed! Well, actually jumped up on me. She stayed just long enough for me to give her some pets and scritches. Now I wonder if she hops up while I'm asleep.
I can tell you how that she immediately turned an awful day in to a wonderful one. She's out and about and not running away when I walk in to which ever room she's occupying. She's once again taking treats right out of my hand. I'll treasure this while it lasts.

(5,093 posts)cause what you experienced with electronics mirror my WTF's during that time. But the next one to hit doesn't start until March 14.
I'm with you when it comes to wonky cables and outlets. I've had the exact same thing happen to me here at my house, and I've never been able to explain it... except to figure this house is so old it probably needs a complete rewiring (which we could never afford!)
Our weather here has been so cold and snowy and is now on the cusp of warming up to the 40's, that my cats have been clustering around me and on top of me in bed. Last night, while my grandson played a game on my system, one of the cats happened to put one paw and all his weight on top of my displaced rib bone. OUCH! He immediately moved the paw and gave me head boops... his way of saying "sorry", I guess. Gotta love 'em, even when it hurts!
