is fully autonomous. It can lie dormant on the sea floor for long periods, and sneak up on ships and subs to fire a torpedo at close range making counter measures impossible.

What they were good at, pummeling onshore targets from a few miles off shore, can be done much more effectively, cheaply and safely (for our troops) from the air with missiles, drones and airplanes.

Spending $20B on a sitting duck is not in the best interests of our country.
