Nottoway Plantation Louisiana - a tale of two reactions

Posted in AfAm Group

Threads is a crazy place. As this story is blowing up in my feed today - I'm checking reactions.

On the one hand:
We have lost a piece of history.
The Resort was so beautiful.
So sad - I've been to weddings there.

On the other hand:
May the ancestors in limbo be released from the land.
This is therapeutic.
No more cos-playing Antebellum weddings.
Hundreds of Slaves - Good.

This is why I go on and on about America being in a culture war. The war won't end until one side is victorious.

I hope it's mine. I really hope truth and reconciliation matters. And if folks don't think it does? Go read threads #Nottoway. It matters far more than the maga Repub culture will ever be able to understand. And that's a good thing, because when it hits them it will be a sucker punch.

When this administration is ashes, we really do need to have a Truth and Reconciliation Commission and hearings. I think it might go a long way toward healing this awful mess we're currently in.

I view maga as the descendants of the CSA. If we let them get away with their shitting on the Constitution and moves towards forming a Theocracy - they'll just rise again in 160 years.
