The Trump Arch - and Stone Mountain GA

Posted in the Black American aka African American Group

Rambling thoughts and memories of almost two decades at DU.

A few years ago discussions about the *value* of Stone Mountain as art caused some distress for Black American members at DU - including myself. The arguments encountered were heavily focused on the three sculptors work, and its value as a piece of art.

No amount of information provided as to why in the 1950's the United Daughters of the Confederacy pushed for its completion to thumb its nose at the Civil Rights Movement could move the needle.

With the Compromise of 1877 rising among the souls of Black Americans who descend from Enslaved Black Americans and Jim Crow as the key point that the supposed Promise of America was denied us - we now have to contend with the risen CSA's Leader's monument. The Arch.

2029 needs to be the beginning of a major reckoning of the evil inflicted on our ancestors who survived the horrors of Jim Crow THROUGHOUT this country. That means no conciliatory obnoxious arguments about art.

If it is completed sooner rather than later, we must demand its destruction by the American Government. We cannot be forced to eat another shit sandwich so that white Liberals, Progressives and Leftists can be comfortable at the family "BBQ". Anything built by these traitors needs to be destroyed.

We still have to live with a sculpture in GA of evil, filthy, racist traitors who should have been publicly hanged, and their descendants prevented from serving in the US military, holding office, or working in any level of government for 100 years . . .

Our 'Allies' from the political spectrum of Obama to the extreme far left need to give us this win.

If they don't want us moving right and taking over a broken Republican Party (our historical home)they are going to have to be uncomfortable in their family and social circles that are Magapubs who won't like The Reckoning.

They need to make us believe what they say . . . because we see what they do.

One more step - I'm perfectly aok with tearing down the Ballroom and the Kennedy Center and the Country Club Patio and putting them back to what they were. IDGAF about the cost. That's Status Quo Thinking.

Next Admin should destroy it first and ask for guidance from the DC Historical Preservation Committee later. The system is not designed for Patriots like you and me.

Its designed to protect and work FOR Confederates like the Magapub voters.

Tearing down their Leader from.everything American will crush their souls.

These are good people - but they have to throw off status quo thinking.

Don't do the same thing. We are NOT coming together with those people.

I asked about the theoretical possibility that if George Washington and Robert E. Lee had switched birth dates, could we be honoring Lee as "father of our country" and Washington as the failed confederate general.

Oh boy. People acted like I served them the pie from "The Help." The pushback was epic. One comment still stands out as representative: "George Washington was a hero. Lee was a traitor. Case closed!"

And regarding your comment on the system being designed more for maga-types, I was just thinking last night (again) that if a black president performed like this ignorant charlatan, they would have been dead long ago. No joke. The military, the Secret Service and all other security mechanisms around would have revolted and allowed violent magas to have at it.

This country, in general, still has way too much fealty for white men dedicated to the preservation of while male privilege (duh).

Is being woven into my county's 250th Anniversary. It started a few years back with recognition of a Black Revolutionary hero in our borough, and a Mayor (might be the last damn Republican in America) whose family had to engage a WASP to buy and build their home here (Jewish). When her father then became a councilman he couldn't bring the rest of the Council across the bridge that pointed out there were enslaved human beings in our Borough, County, and State and weave it into the 200th celebration.

This is her making good on a promise to him - as well as a social justice focused historical committee and even a couple of Republican Commissioners.

I don't know about the rest of the country but Hunterdon County is leaning alllllllll the way in about liberty and justice being for the white males, and no one else.
