I just read "Calico Joe", by John Grisham

A quick and fun read.
I expected it to be heavy on baseball, but it wasn't.
Baseball was only used as a vehicle for the people in the story to show their human sides.
A bitter old man, a hero worshiping son and an injured, former star in the making.
If you need something to read for a couple of hours, this could be it.

A good quick read, but kind of predictable. His "Playing for Pizza" was better, imo. n/t FSogol Aug 2012 #1
