The Today Show's First Book Club Selection

Today, it was announced that the Today Show was starting a book club. It was also announced that the first selection for the book club would Smantha Shannon's The Bone Season.

The book is set in 2059 and its main character is a girl named Paige Mahoney, who is a clairvoyant (a person who can read minds). A repressive regime has taken over a number of cities and has outlawed clairvoyants. Paige is discovered to be a clairvoyant, arrested, and sent to a prison in Oxford England. Once in prison Paige meets the character, Warden and the story moves on from there.

meant being able to see things through other than normal means, often the future. The word doesn't have anything to do with mind-reading normally.
