Anyone else here reading or finished Murakami's latest?

Colorless Tsukuru Tazaki and His Years of Pilgrimage: A novel

We are nearly done - not reading, but listening via Audible. Interested in your thoughts on it....I still can't decide.

I read 1Q84 when I saw my daughter reading it. It was a waste of my time. I have no intention of reading anything else by this author. 1Q84 was lurid for no reason. --Tace

I felt bad for voicing criticism. Especially since I didn't address your question about the new novel.

He's a talented writer. He employed a lot of interesting meta-fictional techniques. But, IQ84 was a letdown for me at the end. (Partly because I actually purchased the novel.)

Yet, my understanding is that IQ84 lends an important insight into the popular culture of post Fukushima Japan. --Tace
