Strength

How can I tell if I am strong?
Muscular? Persistent? Overwhelming?
Is it dominance?
Is it bullying?
I should get everything I want
Carrying all on my broad shoulders

I would force everyone to meet my desires
By threats, by anger, by conflict
I have the power to convince
To move mountains one boulder at a time
Changing the world
Forcing my way through the crowds

Browning, crackling, dying
Nothing but fluff in the wind

What is strength?

When I can stare into the eyes of a baby
Seeing the innocence within
Knowing the pain of all I’ve done
Admitting my guilt before the world
Shedding tears for the consequences
Of my dark actions

When I search for the truth
And cast aside falsehood
Burning away all I believed
Whenever I’m wrong
Admitting I am the fool
That is when I am strong
