abandoned

the heart hangs heavy dragging on the ground
though it neither beats nor bleeds any longer
the mind builds a levee to block out all sound
it will never be complete yet will grow stronger
the invisible soul is hiding inside of the carnage
though it will never show the evil which is held
the body is earth abiding amidst all the damage
it does not hope to know how eternity will meld
the hands and the fingers both fend off and grip
though they cannot seem to clear a path ahead
the scent of lie still lingers in a single single sip
it will permeate the dream and confuse instead
the thoughts wish to continue a basic deception
the slow decay of the sinew to end its inception
