before everything fell apart

looking back now before everything fell apart
seeing the warning signs cracks in the facade
once the curtains tore and entropy had a start
sour vinegar of the wines no longer seem odd
to reach for what once was a hand now empty
a wish never can return moments of comfort
action or only the stunts all illusions of plenty
judging orders of concern the reality to distort
held together by rotten threads and rusted nails
hanging low to the earth brushing in the breeze
cloths covered in spiderwebs caught on the rails
denying the truth of worth of the losses to seize
sitting amidst the wreckage counting the wounds
awaiting divine messages coming from the tombs
