Predator

Lurking in the darkness
Stealthily, with rumbling belly
The Predator seeks the vulnerable
The weak amongst the masses
On whom to dine
In his gilded luxury
A room of pretend gold
That used to be dignified
But now a travesty.
He dominates the landscape
With his overbearing nature
Believing in his sacred right
To destroy all who challenge
From among the herd.

--

We the sheep, middling and poor,
Scraping for food out in the fields
Dominated by laws unjust
Created by predators before
Not quite so hungry
But herding us still
For their use in production
In providing for their needs
Not ours, but theirs
In their greedy conniving hearts

--

But now, the Predator-in-chief
With experience from his past
In a mansion full of rumor
Of abduction and abuse
Decides he is the King
No, God Emperor of all
Anything he says is gold
But like his gilded room
None of it is true
Just worthless mere illusion.
