until the end of time

and vow to hold onto love until the end of time
not realizing how time works and how life ends
dependent on gods above to measure the divine
waiting for a secret sign and a message it sends
a point between tongue mouth and lips vibrating
as the air molecules spread weaker at a distance
whispers or sounds sung either gentle or striating
making all that was ever said echos of nonsense
ears hear the brain accepts the process of belief
set against all other sounds a cautious cacophony
both treasures and regrets both extended or brief
counting measured bounds of song or symphony
a life of age or of youth pitted against each other
a lie to gauge of the truth fitted between the lovers
