barely felt tinging at the edge of a mistake of reality
embers glow after the blaze a last moment of sane
thoughts deeper to dredge up these words of finality
to cling to the life that hurts those stings of memory
focus the now into a future of drying wilted flowers
staring out as a world reverts twists about in reverie
seeking the mother’s nurture as the sad soul cowers
lying amidst echoing voices reaching for the spark
sight dims as motions enfeeble longing for the touch
sins of regrettable choices pass through lips of dark
all hope on a slender needle on a weakening clutch
living mindless in the panic feeling as moments flow
giving last thoughts dramatic accepting a final blow
