a kiss

as lips first meet tentative and move forward or back
eyes closed and breaths held in this delicate moment
time waits softly and relative a fantasy covers the fact
of two separate hearts felled souls seek entombment
the physical and mental blend and impart their magic
one of touches felt and bestowed the other starts love
emotions to forever intend before the lives turn tragic
then all of nature will implode both below and above
at that first taste no consequences are to be imagined
dangerous disguises disappear as truth shines through
to focus on the now intensive ignore the unexamined
confidence created of fear unaware of what will ensue
the passion has no conscience there is no safe return
two bodies locked by love clinch the future does burn
