sand shells and seaweed scattered upon the beach
waiting for the tide to caste ever widening tapestries
in sullen sunlight lies breed to stretch beyond reach
pearls cluster about the throat as hands of the killer
dull gleams announce the worth in soft shadow light
where the silent ghosts float damp air grows chiller
vanity crumbles words terse value covered in blight
torn rigging of spiderwebs waving among the masts
trees coated in dead vines cling tightly to branches
wicked wind storms to dread echo the cannon blast
taste vinegar and bitter wines as all reality blanches
the fragments of music wind from bleeding fingers
as puffy and bloodied lips find the note still lingers
