Is Netflix (Or HBO or Hulu or Showtime or Amazon or Starz) Eyeing a new Star Trek Series?

PURE conjecture at this point... BUT... "a Star Trek expert named Larry Nemecek (author of “Star Trek: The Next Generation Companion”) allegedly said something about Star Trek “talks” between CBS and Netflix at a fan convention two weekends ago.

The following Monday Nemecek explained there were no “talks” but there may have been “overtures.”

“As I understand it, there have been overtures. But none taken. So far.”

Netflix overtures to CBS, I’m assuming. The Trek franchise is apparently a download monster for the streaming service."

But is there competition for this...?
