I submitted a short to Asimov. Will be shocked if they take it...but hey, why not?

at one time, start at the top, make a list of ten markets and submit as soon as one rejects it, to the next

It will take five years (average) but always have something in the pipeline.

Good luck--will hold positive thoughts for you. I entered a story in the 2012 Writers Digest Shorts contest, doubtless won't make the cut (have done this before) but rejection is a part of our writer's life, right? Gotta keep the faith!
