(73,702 posts)I am interested in that.
And Olympic figure skating.
That's about it.
But I do read your headlines so when males around me talk about sports I am not a total idiot.
My cousin was yammering away about the new Packer recruit, I could tell him I read about already!

(73,702 posts)Texas is ranked #1 but OSU is slightly favored to win tomorrow.
I have no idea how they do the ranking.
Ohio State won the national championship last year but are only ranked #3 this year.
Ohioans are odd football fans. They are the only fans that cuss out their team
even when they win. We know every player, every play, and we are sure they screwed
up most of the time.
And if the opponents win fair and square, we give them their due and are not mad at them.
We are mad at our team.
Well men's skating is ruined as far as I am concerned. It is now just a jumping contest.
No skating to it.
I only watch women's skating and ice dancing and pairs.
They still do a good skate.

(34,287 posts)But the actual skating to music with the flow of the rhythm is still what I love about skating, and the taller the skater the better I love them. The lines of their bodies with the music is so awesome ..taller skaters to me have an advantage.

(73,702 posts)Athleticism gets higher marks.
I love the whole gestalt, the skating, music, costumes, artistry, athletic performance.
But I like the artistry more, as you say the skating and music.
Yes the tall skaters look so graceful and flow with the music.
But the short women skaters are talented as well, almost like gymnasts in their talent.
With a better center of gravity than the tall gals.
And of course in pairs and ice dancing, the smaller women are easier for the men to
pick up and throw around.

I find that interest in pro teams seems more like tribalism than really caring about the 'sport'. A reason to get together to drink and bash other tribes. Every period, the winners and losers change positions, but the world goes on without giving a damn about pro sports.
Sorry -- time to stop my brew and commenting!

(26,591 posts)I could knock a gnat off a feather at 50 yards with a frisbee, and not bother the feather. (Eww, I'm starting to sound like tRump here....) Wasn't tall enough or fast enough for ultimate, only had the tossing skills.
Chess, I could hold my own against about any mid-level player, but the experts/masters would clean my clock.

(5,923 posts)I used to race virtually with my friends back in the day using Need for Speed on pc network gaming platforms.
Now, I seem to be a fan of the actual races...so, hello!

(5,923 posts)I've seen my fair share of Nascar and swamp buggy races in my life.
I've even sparred with a friend using I bought at an Estate sale...I might be a little risk prone as I like to jump before testing the waters.
It only hurts if you remember it.
