And the Bride-to-Be Wore Her Favorite Sports Jersey

Women’s sporting events are growing more popular. According to StubHub, 2025 W.N.B.A. ticket sales surged 145 percent this time from a year ago — this season, 2.5 million fans attended games. The Professional Women’s Hockey League drew 50 percent more fans this season — its second complete season ever — than last (more than 700,000 fans attended 102 games). Nielsen predicts that all women’s professional football will have 800 million fans globally by 2030, which would be a 38 percent growth from now.

Brides (and grooms) around the world who are fans of women’s sporting teams are staging pre-wedding parties in arenas and stadiums. It’s a way for them to do something they love, while introducing friends and family to the teams they support, even converting some into real fans.

Teams reported seeing more pre-wedding festivities at their games. Bianca Henninger, the vice president for ticketing at Angel City FC in Los Angeles, part of the National Women’s Soccer League, said more groups buying special packages are bachelor and bachelorette parties (she has seen several this season).

There have been three bachelor and bachelorette parties at Connecticut Sun games, a W.N.B.A. team that plays at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn., this season, said Caroline O’Keefe, the team’s manager of communications.
