Just watched "The Cars that made America" on the History Channel. Pretty good review for this gear head.
For instance I did not know Henry Ford was partners with the Dodge Brothers and screwed them over...Both of whom died of the Spanish Flu... These guys were ruthless...
That Walter Chrysler who had a Rail Road back round started in the Auto Industry with Buick. How Durant was Head of GM twice and lost it twice.
And of course how Ford put everybody in a Model T. They did not paint Ford in a good light to say the least. They skirted the fact that Ford was a huge Antisemite, anti communist, anti labor and anti banking. Ford thought all the banks were run by Jews. That Unions would kill capitalism..
They also did not mention how Ford, a pro Nazi showed Hitler the nuance and method of the assembly line that revolutionized industry and turned men into machines.. This helped build the Nazi war machine.
All in all a good auto 3 part history of the industry from the early 20th century to the early 21st th century..
