Baseball Story-Roger Maris

Last edited Tue May 22, 2018, 12:25 PM - Edit history (1)

Once a NY Yankee rookie was sitting next to his manager when they watched Roger Maris throw out a runner from RF going from first to third. The manager remarked, "you'll not see another throw like that in a million years."

Two innings later Maris did it again. The rookie commented, "time sure flies up here in the majors."

but of course that was overshadowed by his hitting at least in NY. In St. Louis they loved his defense.
