(12,629 posts)Ruined a pond we had on the family farm, crapped so much the algae took over and killed the fish. Thats all they do is breed and crap.

(22,220 posts)If swans don't want somebody around, they know how to make them not want to stick around.
Beautiful birds, but not to be messed with!

(12,629 posts)Swan fight. We were downstate and we took Roscoe out for a walk at Proud Lake state park. When this commotion erupted. I cant believe how close I got to those birds. This happened 9 years ago the cameras on phones then did the best they could. They were fighting over the female
winner took off with her.
Few stories about mute swans, none nice. Trumpeter Swans are the best.

(36,995 posts)I use to drive by that all the time. I lived on Whitmore Lake years ago. Fished Proud lake a few times and spent lots of time in Brighton State Park. Had a fishing buddy that lived in Wixom.

(12,629 posts)Had friends that lived in Commerce Township. Lived for a while in a mobile home place as a transitional home when we were looking for homes up here after getting off the family farm.

(36,995 posts)Canadian Geese were introduced to Michigan at the Gull Lake MSU Experimental Station. I use to work there in the the summers.
I recall every one was excited and thought they were beautiful. That was until they crapped all over their yards.

(36,995 posts)The old Kellogg mansion was there. Great summer job for this teen. Had an apartment living on Gull Lake. Worked on the farm and painted barns.
