What birds would be coming through Fort Madison, Iowa, now?

I’m watching trains in Fort Madison.

The camera is aimed on occasion at a bend in h to e river about a mile south of the Amtrak station.

I’m seeing several large white birds that I do not usually see at Fort Madison. They are far away, but they appear to me to be larger than seagulls. They’re hanging out by the river.

Cranes? Herons?

Thanks.
