Hot pepper bird seed

Good morning.
So I saw this for the first time the other day. Now that we have bird feeders up, it's always a challenge keeping those clever squirrels away. Has anyone tried this seed that's supposedly not enticing to squirrels but absolutely no different to birds? Does it really work that way?

They look like the covers for feeders, but they go on the pole below the trays. So unless your squirrels can jump to the feeder, they work wonderfully.

Don't know about seed. but the squirrels will not go near the hot pepper suet blocks I put out. Before I started using them, it was a race to see who would eat the suet first, the birds or squirrels. First time I put one out, here came the squirrel, after several bites, he jumped off the feeder, ran around in circles for a while, then jumped into the bird bath and stuck his head in the water. Never went near the suet feeder again.
