Related: About this forumShedeur Sanders with a couple of first half touchdowns in his first preseason game
He made quite a few plays but also a few mistakes. The biggest flaw in his game is sometimes he'll drift backwards for a sack when he faces pressure but one play he dodged a couple sacks and ran for what was eventually a 2 yard loss. On a play like that is probably better to throw it away if no one is open downfield.
The Browns have a lot of QBs but I think they got a steal in Sanders. He is very advanced in his development compared to most QBs at this stage in their career.
With all that said it is only preseason.

(8 posts)I watched all of Shedeur's games at Colorado.
He's an extremely accurate passer. But he didn't have a great O-line in Boulder.
There was a lot of inaccurate nonsense spoken and written about Shedeur around the time of the draft. It surprised me.
He should have been a First Round pick.
Some of the hostility to Shedeur and his father is based on racism, in my opinion.
There have been a lot of cocky, confident white QBs in history-- e.g., Joe Namath, Jim McMahon, et.al.
No one declined to draft them for being Uppity Caucasians.
It reminds me of the way the NFL owners, and many white fans, denounced Colin Kaepernick and the Black Lives Matter movement.

(5,961 posts)Any team could have taken him prior to round five, yet they didnt. I hope he does well, but theres a reason every NFL scout looked at him and passed. Maybe they didnt want to deal with his dad, or maybe he just isnt that good. Well see.

(29,724 posts)I remember when Colorado beat Arizona State the year before both teams joined the Big 12. I remember the announcers were saying how impressed scouts were with his development at that point in his career.
A lot of teams already had QBs or were waiting on Aaron Rodgers decision which is a big reason why he fell in the draft but as far as experience as a starting QB with a lot of playing time is why I said he was more advanced in his development at this point in his pro career compared to most prospects.

(74,066 posts)I'm hoping things work out well for him.
One thing I did find annoying in the broadcast was the effusive praise they put on him (for instance, on the 10 yard scramble for a 1st down on the 2nd possession). They went on & on how he read the DBs with their backs turned, etc.
Fine, and he did make a nice play.
But, had that been Caleb Williams (or Justin Fields) they would have crucified them for not immediately finding the open man (in 2 seconds), or being too willing to resort to running.
The national media have made it clear they want Williams to fail. But, Sanders has a truckload of cheerleaders.
I found it ridiculous.
