Bengals acquire QB Joe Flacco in trade with rival Browns

The Cincinnati Bengals turned to their division rivals for a much-needed solution at quarterback, acquiring Joe Flacco in a trade with the Cleveland Browns.

Cincinnati also received a sixth-round draft pick while Cleveland landed a fifth-round pick in the trade, which was announced Tuesday.

The Bengals have been seeking a long-term help under center since franchise quarterback Joe Burrow suffered a toe injury in Week 2. Jake Browning has struggled since replacing Burrow, throwing eight interceptions over parts of four games.

Flacco completed 58.1% of his passes for 815 yards, two touchdowns and six interceptions in four games with the Browns this season. He ranks 31st among 32 qualifying quarterbacks in Total QBR, according to ESPN Research. Browning is two spots higher at 29th.

They had to make a move, and considering what was available, meh, they could have done worse. Xavier Breath Tuesday #2

Giving up trades 5 and 6 I believe is quite acceptable..... I even sense Joe Burrow and Jamar Chase were behind in the push to secure Flacco.....Team wins are the goals. Bengals have the offensive team tools that Flacco can capitalize upon for Bengal wins...

Can't knock the guy's experience, that's for sure. He's seen it all and done it all, which puts him miles ahead of Browning.
