HENDERSON, Nev.
On Friday, Crosby's time with the Raiders came to an end after seven seasons and 110 games played when Las Vegas sent him to Baltimore in exchange for the 14th pick in April's draft and a first-round pick in 2027, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter.
The deal will not be made official until the start of the new league year on Wednesday.

(2,615 posts)I hate this. Crosby plays at 100% for 95% of the snaps in 99% of the games. He's a BEAST 😱

Baltimore doesn't typically make dumb moves and their track record at drafting is excelllent so giving up 2 1st round draft picks is not a smart move IMO. In addition, Jackson's cap hit for each of the next 2 seasons is 74.5M. Now add Crosby's 35.5M average for each of the next 3 seasons with a roster that already has Roquan Smith 32.7M/YR, Madubuike 31M, Humphrey 27M/YR . They also have several other of their own FAs that they likely now can't sign while currently 10 M over the cap. They are going to regret this trade very quickly.

(1,113 posts)Lots of folks hereabouts were pressing for the Bears to trade for Crosby. Don't get me wrong; Crosby is a very good player and he would have vastly improved the defense. But that contract is far too large to absorb on a team that now desperately needs a center (with Drew Dalman's surprise retirement), two safeties, a linebacker, and an interim left tackle (Ozzy Trapilo won't be back until sometime in 2027, if he comes back from ACL surgery). Not to mention upgrades needed elsewhere.
Considering the size of the contract, I think the Raiders were asking too much.

(33,314 posts)AFC North is a weak division and Baltimore has more or less stacked the odds towards 5 or 6 automatic wins. Its theirs to take.
They were ranked 28th in sack totals last year. Cant get far in the playoffs with that number.
