What is this car.

It is from the mid fifties, and filmed in a former Italian colony. It was also a British colony before the Italians. (Eritrea)

It is at appox the 3:40 point. It shows the front and back.


The city is Asmara Eritrea (Ethiopia at that time)

from this photo, but, from the bulbous fender swells front and back and the squared-off rectangular windshield, I think it might be an Allard J1 (British) roadster...

The Allard radiator was shaped differently, though some were simialar.

and a Falaschi. It has a 1,900cc 12 cylinder engine. An old Italian said it belonged to Fangio, but that should be taken with a big grain of salt.

Some work is going to be done to recover details. If they can bring out the badge in front, that will help. It could be a Ghia badge.

Falaschi designed the Talbot.

It does look a bit like an Allard, but the grill is different.
