Related: About this forum"Teachers' union NEA members endorse cutting ties with ADL."
https://www.democraticunderground.com/10143493365Here is a response to this "unfortunate" action by the NEA:
"It is profoundly disturbing that a group of NEA activists would brazenly attempt to further isolate their Jewish colleagues and push a radical, antisemitic agenda on students, the ADL said in a statement.
We will not be cowed for supporting Israel, and we will not be deterred from our work reaching millions of students with educational programs every year.
State Rep. Paul Berch (D-Westmoreland), who is Jewish, told NHJournal he was profoundly disappointed that the NEA has targeted the ADL.
Rather than attacking the messenger, the NEA should turn its attention to the rise of antisemitism in our elementary and secondary schools, as well as on our college campuses, Berch said."
Here is the purpose of the ADL that some in the NEA seem to have no use for:
"The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) was founded in 1913 with the mission to "stop the defamation of the Jewish people and to secure justice and fair treatment to all," according to the ADL. Its primary purpose is to combat antisemitism and all forms of bias and discrimination, working towards a world where all individuals are treated with respect and dignity"

It's unfortunate that I can't say what I want to say in this group. So, I won't say anything more.

And it is wise for bigots to understand that those on the receiving end of their bigotry and hatred...WE SEE YOU!
Let me say again, WE SEE YOU!

Jewish Community Welcomes NEA Executive Committees Decision to Reject Boycott of Educational Materials on Antisemitism
New York, NY, July 18, 2025 Jewish community organizations representing the majority of American Jewry today welcomed the decision by the National Education Association (NEA) Executive Committee and Board of Directors to reject a vote by the organizations Representative Assembly to boycott ADL (Anti-Defamation League) educational materials on antisemitism and the Holocaust.
ADL CEO Jonathan Greenblatt, American Jewish Committee (AJC) CEO Ted Deutch, Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations COO Stephanie Hausner, and Jewish Federations of North America Executive Vice President Shira Hutt issued the following joint statement:
We welcome the NEA Executive Committee and Board of Directors' decision to reject this misguided resolution that is rooted in exclusion and othering, and promoted for political reasons. We urge NEA leadership to communicate clearly with its membership that not only has this measure been rejected, but also how this approach is harmful to educators, students and families concerned about the rise of antisemitism and hate in our schools and communities.
This resolution was not just an attack on the ADL, but a larger attack against Jewish educators, students, and families. We are grateful for the leadership shown by the members of the NEA Jewish Affairs Caucus and teachers across the country, whose words and stories serve as both a reminder and warning of why our work is so important. We thank the nearly 400 Jewish and community organizations and dozens of elected officials around the country who made clear their concerns about this dangerous and antisemitic resolution.

was a good idea to boycott the ADL? It should never have come to this in the first place.
