(20,607 posts)is Hamas. And Hamas has held that power from day 1.
That particular point is one that needs to be repeated ad infinitum, yet we never hear it in the MSM. We should be hearing it every day from world leaders, humanitarian groups, and the feckless UN.
Hamas's disregard for the Gazan people and human life in general is "baked in", so for some reason Hamas gets a universal pass. It reminds me of how the media dismisses Trump's abuses with "That's just Trump being Trump".
"Brutal butchery and using the people of Gaza as human shields? Hiding underground and filling their bellies with stolen food while Gazans suffer?"
"Ho hum. That's just Hamas being Hamas."

(4,222 posts)He is a rabbi and a Jew, is justification for calling all Jews as complicit for what is happening in Gaza if they dont do anything about it.
It doesnt matter who he is, calling all Jews as complicit is bullshit
it doesn't matter how he identifies either, because he is providing an excuse for anti-Jewish bigotry.
No surprise that some would have no problem with this.
so what if if he is a rabbi, Meir Kahane was a rabbi and a racist piece of garbage, Norman finkelstein is a vile holocaust piece of garbage minimizer.
It is no different than those who were enthralled with Reverend Wright collectively blaming of all white people for the ills of the world.
Oh, he is a rabbi, oh he is a Jew, so it is OK to collectively blame ALL Jews for complicity if they dont do something.
He is a jackass promoting anti-Jewish bigotry, and because he happens to be a rabbi, he is getting the attention he wants as a political activist.

(4,222 posts)long before October 7, that they feel it is futile to even try to engage. Some are suggesting in not so subtle ways that Israel has no right to exist with such phrases as "the complicity has been going on for more than half a century".
When asked about the hostages, the answer was it is futile, and says because Netanyahu doesn't care about world opinion. While that may have some validity, it ignores who actually controls the fate of the hostages, and that is Hamas. How easily it is to forget that small detail.
and not surprisingly some are so "agreeable" to "blaming all Jews for complicity" if they don't don't do anything about what is happening in Gaza, because a "rabbi and a Jew said it was ok". Gee isn't that special, a rabbi gave them permission to blame all Jews with complicity.
When asked why are just "Jews being called out", one of the comments replied "perhaps because "everybody" isn't genocidal". That is the perfect example of blaming the Jews. It's garbage.
It is one disgusting example after another loaded with soft bigotry, because of a "rabbi" said it was ok. and just look how many are willing to oblige.
There were quite a few on the far left spectrum agreeing with Reverend Wright blaming all whites for every ill in the world, from addicting people to drugs, aids, the middle east, etc., then adding the U.S. for all the worlds problems.
"The government gives them the drugs, builds bigger prisons, passes a three-strike law and then wants us to sing God Bless America? No. No. No. Not God Bless America, God damn America. God damn America for killing innocent people.
President Obama realized this crazy ass preacher was out of his f**king mind, and immediately disassociated himself with him, and it wasn't entirely because of politics, it was because Obama can think critically.
I recall a fair number of people on the left were quite upset with President Obama for disassociating himself from Wright, and that has echos of a cult like behavior, not unlike the Magas that infest certain areas of our society.
Just observing the links used from such hosts as Krystal Ball and Democracy Now, speaks volumes.
The interesting thing from Maga and Left wing outlets, is they seem to NEVER interview people with opposing points of view. While perhaps not "brainwashing", they do exert significant influence and engage in psychological manipulation that can reinforce existing beliefs and potentially shape opinions. Having an opposing point of view would defeat that purpose, and actually force people to critically think about things.
