A telecenter operator who was, until recently, employed by Fidelity Investments launched on Monday a volley of antisemitic insults at a Jewish journalist via social media after learning that her children attend a summer camp which fosters pride in Zionism.
Fk you and fk your kid who goes to Nazi summer camp! Danielle Gordon, the now-former employee, wrote to Bethany Mandel, author and contributor to the Mom Wars Substack. Free Palestine from you sick fks!
The exchange began when Mandel publicly discussed the presence of a paraglider over the camps property which, due to lingering trauma caused by the memory of the use of paragliders in Hamass Oct. 7, 2023, massacre across southern Israel which preceded an explosion of antisemitic incidents across the US appeared to pose an imminent security threat. Gordon seemingly took umbrage at Mandels concern for Jewish life and the lives of her children, and hastily fired off the messages from an account which listed her legal name.
I found it troubling that she sent such antisemitic vitriol when shes just a working class, college educated white woman living in Denver that is how far this rot has spread, Mandel told The Algemeiner on Monday after her sharing of Gordons messages amassed over a million views on X. Antisemitism has become normative discourse for people of her demographic.

(36,724 posts)Why she would be scared because a woman sends her child to a Jewish Day Camp.
I'm NOT Jewish but my Grammie Hannie made sure I could attend summer camp through our JCC so I could have exposure to my heritage. She figured out by the time I was 8 that I wasn't going to be a 'christian' for all of my life. My heart wasn't there. Now I'm a UU.
I partially credit this great experience as a kid with keeping my heart open.
I don't see why someone would be afraid of that.

(6,010 posts)Over history antisemitism has usually shown up and become popular when other things are going wrong. It has been used by rulers and leaders as a means to misdirect peoples fears and angsts as well as to get support. There is no justification for it.

(41,993 posts)People are now comfortable with engaging in antisemitic diatribes, seemingly certain that there will be no consequences. And most of the time there are no consequences. Jew hatred has gone mainstream and a lot of people dont want to miss out!
You cant be for the denial of Jewish identity and nationhood, the denial that Israel is the homeland of the indigenous Jewish people, and advocate for its destruction without being a Jew hater.
Ms. Gordon is a monster and Im glad she is now unemployed.

Its just depressing to see how the endless cycle of human conflict plays out, assiduously fostered by our media/other war profiteering industries...
I can feel like such an outsider in human affairs and conflicts (shrug..always preferred animals), you can see the same dynamics play out over and over ad nauseum
