My grandfather was an aerospace engineer who built various bits and pieces for the Apollo Project, some very large, and some small. I've got photos of some of his work and his Apollo 8 medallion.

He was an Army Air Corp officer during World War II and never said a word about what he did then, not even to my grandma. You got the feeling that it was an ugly job that needed doing. The most you'd get out of him, if you surprised him, was a grimace. Otherwise, nothing.

You could always get him to talk about his work for the Apollo Project.
