Here are the best beach cams to watch Hurricane Erin impact the NC coast live

North Carolina is expected to get hit by the first impacts of Hurricane Erin soon. According to the National Weather Service, its likely that the storm will cause extensive beach erosion and coastal flooding around high tide as early as Tuesday, Aug. 19, peaking late Wednesday, Aug. 20 into Thursday, Aug. 21 with the chance of making some roads, specifically Highway 12, impassable or even inaccessible for days.
As of Tuesday morning, a storm surge watch is in effect for oceanside areas along the Outer Banks, along with a tropical storm watch for most of coastal North Carolina, The News & Observer previously reported, with evacuations underway for multiple counties.
