Map shows where nearly 1 million Americans are without power on July 4

Link.

Michigan and NJ lead the list, with 305,320 and 124,350 out of power.

Shows the county, too, and in my county 6,500+ are without power.

Yesterday, a thread was posted telling about how PGE was having trouble meeting demand and they were asking us to set our thermostats at a higher setting. I took mine from 73 to 80 and with a fan, I was almost as comfortable as a lower setting.

Here’s a map of current Michigan outages. Many are DTE customers in the Detroit region.

Don't bother Google-Image-Searching for a (colorized map legend) like I foolishly did.

Simply click on the 'Link' at the lower-left side of the graphic and be taken to Power Outage Dot Com where you'll find a clever interactive map wherein a click on an area details the electrical power outage (for that specific area).

but this article just appeared one hour ago. A lot more people than what the map states are affected:

Link that says over 100,000 Jersey residents are out of power.

Right now I am waiting to go out, but I can see a storm is imminent. There is no way I would be out after the storm I experienced last night.
