(114,742 posts)2. "They" killed Tai Chi?
I never really considered evolution of a practice, sport, or "art" to be killing it? Is this really how it is viewed? (I can't watch right now, but who is "they" and is this a widespread view? )
'Kinda sad to me, if so.

(1,583 posts)3. That was wonderfully instructive
I have always told my patients to learn yoga and tai chi. I have only taken yoga myself so far but tai chi is my goal for this year!

(708 posts)4. Thank you
for this fascinating history of Tai Chi.
My first Tai Chi master did say that, while most people viewed it as being closer to the internal arts, it could more accurately be viewed as a soft martial art.
I'd never learned about this apparent dichotomy or this history.
Most of us were there for the health benefits which are incredibly obvious even after brief practice.
Thank you.
