Sun Yat-sen is considered the father of modern China and respected by both the People's Republic of China and the Republic of China.

Sun Yat-sen went to the Kingdom of Hawaii when he was about 10 and graduated from High School there. His family wanted him to return to China because they were worried that he was being too influenced by Christianity. After returning to China he continued to study Christianity and was baptized. His revolution was based on his understanding of Christianity as a radical revolutionary force.
