This week, Jan 18-25, marks the International Week of Prayer for Christian Unity.

The concept dates from the early part of the Twentieth Century, and is observed by many Christian faiths in many countries.
We unite in prayer that Christians of diverse denominations may walk toward unity of worship.

I recall an emphasis on this project when I was in grade school in the 1940's, which was many years before efforts toward ecumenism were prevalent; therefore, it holds a special regard in my heart.
