TCM is showing films with a political agenda this month.
No matter how often I have seen them I still watch them over and over.
My favorites right now are A Face In The Crowd, Network and The Manchurian Candidate.

(3,431 posts)What a stunning ending. They're currently filming Season 3. Hope they don't make us wait a year. The writing and acting are superb.

(6,187 posts)It's a newer movie. Takes place during a Democratic presidential primary in Ohio. Lots of intrigue and scheming.

(11,276 posts)I could only watch A Face in the Crowd once. It was just too prescient in some ways. (Manchurian Candidate was too.) I also liked The Last Hurrah, but I've only seen that once.

(27,917 posts)This movie, and The West Wing, and Downton Abbey (altho it is not purely political) are what I call my mental comfort food. I have watched all 3 so many times I've lost count.
