I assume John acted in it as a favor to his friend Orson Welles. But it just quite a confusing beautiful mess that the cast tried hard to hold together with a script written during filming.

Don't worry, it ain't going away any time soon since Netflix had a hand in making this long delayed project possible. There's also a documentary about the making of this movie, but I forgot the name of it right now.

Narrating "The Hobbit", Rankin-Bass Tv special from 1977. Some Tolkien fans turn their nose up at this 1-hour animated special. But I love it; it's what introduced me to Tolkien's writing.
