Sonia Citron Breaks Caitlin Clark's Rookie Record During Mystics-Sparks
Sonia Citron is having a tremendous rookie season in the WNBA. After being selected by the Washington Mystics with the No. 3 overall pick in the 2025 WNBA draft, the rookie guard has impressed while playing in every single game this season.
Not only has Citron been dependable, she has also been a major piece in the Mystics cog this season. While Citron wasnt as highly touted of a prospect as this years No. 1 overall pick, Paige Bueckers, or last years top-pick, Caitlin Clark, Citron has held her own as compared to impressive rookies in the leagues history.
Citron scored 12 points against the Los Angeles Sparks on Sunday. While that point total doesnt sound overly impressive, it led to a new WNBA-rookie-record.
This was game No. 36 that Citron scored at least 10 points this season, surpassing Clark for the most double-digit scoring games by a rookie in WNBA history.
