(13,140 posts)Watching? I love these women across the league. I have yet to see a game on regular networks.
WNBA is second only to womens soccer for me.
Women in sports, so good. Women dominate track and field for USA. And marathons.
Thanks for the heads up in advance.

I do not have the League Pass, but there is always that option. $40 for the season

(200 posts)I haven't had as interest in the NBA for years. I was a fanatic about college basketball until about 8-10 years ago. I soured on them both because I got tired of watching 8 guys stand around while 2 guys played one on one.
Women's hoops are much more appealing to me. The game is played below the hoop, for the most part, and has much more movement away from the ball. The women seem much more engaged in the game and have much better fundamentals. They pass better, run an actual offense, and are taught (and obviously listened) how to play defense.
AAU and free agency every year has destroyed men's college hoops for me and I'm thankful the WNBA.

(64,782 posts)Women's b-ball has been one of my loves for decades. Now it is my main sport for the reasons you point out.
I started watching women's college volleyball last year and found that to be very fun.

(9,130 posts)the world on fire with her scoring. A great many of those college games got played during the week, in the winter and some of the games pulled in way less than 1,000 for attendance. But Jackie and all of those young women played their hearts out like it was the most important game ever. I go back into the 1950's with women's AAU basketball teams.
The first women's pro leagues the players were lucky to ride in a vehicle with heat. Many times not paid or fed a meal. But they played their hearts out. I do have to say that I don't like to see some of the cheap "attitude" and cheap shots from the men's game come into the W and college game. The refs need to do much,. much better.

(64,782 posts)I was surprised Betts was not the #1 pick in the draft. I think she will be a great fit there.
As an Iowa fan I am a big fan of Lucy Olsen. I am hoping to see that she picked up some tricks in Australia last winter. I heard she had a really strong season there.
Also, I am hoping that Georgia Amoore is healthy to see what she can do. She has talent.
I suspect the Mystics will have a good season
On another note it looked to me like the Liberty are getting a little long in the tooth.
I am ready for a good season.

(29,958 posts)That game had the cheapest May tickets (want to go before it gets too hot) when I got them which was before the draft so Toronto has a new player on their team from UCLA so that will make the match-up more interesting.
