Dominique Malonga scores 37, but Seattle Storm fall to Wings for 11th straight loss
The Storm were hoping to avoid a grim franchise record against the Dallas Wings on Monday night. Seattle (3-15) had lost 10 games in a row, tying the mark set in 2023.
They went down swinging. Paige Bueckers eight points in the final 1:12 of the fourth quarter she had 10 points up to that point helped Dallas force overtime at Climate Pledge Arena, where the Wings won a thoroughly entertaining game 112-110.
It sure looked like the Storms skid would end at 10. Defensive letdowns continued to hurt them, but they more than made up for it. Natisha Hiedeman pushed the Storm ahead by four, but back-to-back Bueckers threes tied the game at 94.
Another Dominique Malonga layup, which gave her 37 points on the evening, followed by an Awa Fam block appeared to seal the OT victory for Seattle. Malonga, 20, became the youngest player in WNBA history with a 30-point, 10-rebound game. Shes also the youngest player in league history to reach 200 career field goals at 20 years and 219 days old.
