Audience members disrupt Rep. Byron Donalds' town hall - CBS News

Another town hall for a Republican member of Congress turned contentious Monday night, this time for Rep. Byron Donalds of Florida. Audience members repeatedly interrupted the congressman, and authorities removed two people. CBS News congressional reporter Taurean Small was in attendance.

His constituents did not have the facts before the election or they would not have voted for him. Did any Republican from trump on down the ballot campaign on tariffs, doge, DEI abolishment, doing away with fema and on and on. I missed those campaigns.

He might have caught flak but he's in a safe district, and the fact that he had people removed shows he's more about order than listening. He does 'removal theater' to demonstrate what happens to those who challenge his party.
His district's only 22% Democratic, most of whom are probably in its cities of Fort Myers, Cape Coral, Bonita Springs, and Sanibel. He can hold town halls because he doesn't have to care.
