Family of Venezuelan man deported to El Salvador has no idea of his condition - MSNBC Reports

Weeks after undergoing an emergency surgery to remove his right lung, Wladimir Vera Villamizar, a 33-year-old welder from western Venezuela, was deported to El Salvador and locked up in the supermax prison known as the Center for the Confinement of Terrorism, or CECOT.

Since then, nothing is known about whether Vera is receiving any treatment, and his family has no idea how he is. NBC’s David Noriega speaks to Alex Witt about the statement he received from the Department of Homeland Security regarding Vera, discusses the alarms raised by doctors about detaining a patient so soon after a rare, major operation, and more. - Aired on 06/28/2025.
