The Texas State Legislature will do whatever it takes to make sure the GOP stays in power and I expect SCOTUS will approve it.

California and a few other states could use the same legal arguments to redistrict in a way to overwhelm the crimes that Texas is envisioning, so that the supreme court would be in a bind.
I don't know if playing criminal tiddly-winks is a good idea, but it might be necessary.

is California has a independent redistricting commission and in Texas the GOP controlled State Legislature does it. The sole intent of the Texas GOP will be to get as many new GOP districts as possible in California that might not be the case.

but to do it more often is just wrong. So basically in America it has gotten to the point that politicians chose their voters instead of voters choosing their politicians.

To me it is obvious that our Democracy in at point where I am not sure if it will survive. Much like Climate Change the majority are ignoring it at their own peril. And to think that the plurality of voters willingly chose this is just disgusting.
